Lab Assistantships Available for 2017 AAV Conference

Here is your opportunity to learn, explore, practice and be a part of the AAV practical labs free of charge! AAV is seeking students to assist with our practical labs at the 2017 AAV Annual Conference.

Practical labs are either two or four hours long providing time for attendees to practice techniques and operate innovative equipment. All labs offer an opportunity to work with others to research and explore deep into the topics. Students are needed to assist instructors and lab coordinators in the labs. This is a great way to experience a lab while earning a small stipend to help pay for your conference registration. Take a look at the student assistant job requirements and compensation below:

  • Attend 20-minute orientation meeting on Saturday morning, July 29th.
  • Pre-register and pay for Main Conference in advance.
  • Help with lab set-up as requested on Saturday, July 29th (afternoon or evening).
  • Assist in lab assigned, including clean-up on Sunday evening and/or Monday morning (July 31st) as necessary. Note: You may not switch labs prior to or during the day unless approved. Your presence is required during the entire time slot assigned. If you are assigned to a lab that is only 1/2 day, you are required to assist in another lab or help Dr. Metz.
  • Assist on Monday (July 31st) when requested. This will include packing boxes to ship back to suppliers.

  • Receive a $100 stipend following the successful completion of your assistantship.
  • Have access to the lab hospitality suite, which will have continental breakfast items, lunch, and beverages on Sunday, the day of the lab classes.
  • Qualify for discounted student room rate (limited number of rooms available)
