These brochures are intended to enhance your practice and support AAV goals of education for clients.

HEALTH EXAMINATION

This brochure emphasizes the importance of regular veterinary care for birds, especially new acquisitions. Topics include quarantine of newly acquired birds, and the significance of various parts of the veterinary visit, including physical examination and diagnostic testing. Routine vaccination and sex determination is also discussed.

CHLAMYDIOSIS

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE MY BIRD TO A VETERINARIAN

This companion brochure to "Health Examination" emphasizes the value of a relationship with a skilled avian veterinarian, and the role of AAV in avian health and conservation.

FEATHER LOSS

This brochure discusses feather destructive behavior, and the importance of a thorough diagnostic approach for this complex and frustrating disorder.

SOLD OUT - INJURY PREVENTION & EMERGENCY CARE

This brochure helps owners anticipate and prevent household hazards, including those from other pets, physical barriers and toxins. Advice on basic first aid while seeking aid from an experienced avian veterinarian is also discussed.
