Conservation Committee
The Conservation Committee of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), as described by the by-laws of the association, is one of six standing committees. The committee plays an essential role in fulfilling the conservation goals of the association, which are to promote and facilitate avian conservation efforts worldwide.
This is accomplished through education of the membership, awarding grants and honoraria to groups and individuals involved in conservation, and by promoting collaboration among researchers, conservationists, and the public at large.
The committee holds a meeting at the Annual Conference and Expo of the AAV. Any AAV member is welcome to participate. Members can also join the committee by contacting the committee chair, Scott Ford.
