April 12, 2008
I’m
associate professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, National
Autonomous University of Mexico. In 2004 we started an avian medicine
subject for veterinarian students at our college. Our Veterinary college has
a small companion bird clinic to train vet students. In our veterinary
college the vet student can spend 3-4 months in a hospital, clinic, or farm
to improve the practice and knowledge. However, since we are the only avian
clinic in Mexico to teach this subject we are looking to identify
opportunities for our students (1 or 2 per year) to spend 3-4 months in an
the avian clinic in the USA, either private or public. After the Mexican
students finish, they will come back to Mexico to complete their duties in
our College. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hi everyone! I want to share information about an exciting event happening later this month! On Sunday, April 27th, I will be a "guest expert" on an episode of "Faithful Friends", a TV show sponsored by the pet supply retailer, Drs. Foster and Smith. This will air on Animal Planet at 9AM eastern standard time (and maybe the same time in the pacific zone). The show is about birds. I hope you get a chance to watch —it was a lot of fun to appear on the show. Laurie Hess, DVM, Dipl ABVP - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
