Now, in addition to research, conservation, and scholarships for students, conference registrants, and veterinarians from emerging nations, the AAV Scholarship Committee chaired by Dr. Jill Heatley, is initiating a grant for an outstanding veterinarian in institutional, governmental, or academic practice who has advanced the quality of healthcare of avian species. Although the timeline may be too tight for nominations in 2008, 2009 seems a practical goal.
As information becomes available, it will be posted on the AAV web site and in future editions of the AAV Newsletter.
